DARK

If you are looking for my husband and I during archery season, which is in the fall here in Western Pa where we live, you can find us in any one of our many tree stands.

This particular evening I was just thinking how, as it gets darker towards dusk, that your scope of ability to shoot gets more narrow. Just a couple of hours earlier when I climbed into the stand, I could see far across the field and deep into the woods. As the time went on towards dusk, each minute I had less visibility. Looking at the same landscape over the field and into the woods, I could only see a few yards around me. It's then that I spotted a doe, the only deer of the evening. I was trying every thing and every angle that I could to take a shot. I shifted my position. I kept looking up from my scope then back to my scope to try and see it better. It just was too dark to shoot. One minute you have the visibility and just like that it's gone.

How quickly our opportunities to secure a solid life with Jesus can be gone in a moment. He has an abundance for us that He wants us to experience. We live in this fallen world and can become lulled into thinking that we have tomorrow to get right with our maker God. The darkness is all around us as we experience daily life on this earth. We can be overcome by it or we can seek the only true light, Jesus Christ. God sent his spirit to us in flesh in the embodiment of Jesus so that we would never have to experience darkness.

Are you in a dark place right now? What is causing your scope of ability to see, feel and experience the darkness or the light? If you have ever been in the woods when it is pitch black, then you understand dark. There is a darkness of the soul when we do not have a relationship with Jesus.

Just as I was shifting my position, we can make a shift in our soul and focus and seek Jesus. He always immediately responds and His light invades your darkness!

"This is a message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another in the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin. "

1 John 1:5-7 ESV

Will you join me in the light? It only takes saying yes Jesus come in my heart and cleanse me and forgive my sins and be Lord of my life. Then position yourself by reading the Bible, praying and following Him.
