STILL

First deer of the archery season! Always a thrilling experience whether you are 12 or 60. One of my first thoughts was that when I began hunting at age 12 with my dad, I never thought I would still be hunting at 60. Hunting is part of our culture and family traditions so it's deeply engrained in me.

I began to reflect on what other stills that I have in my life. The ones I'm most thankful for is that I still love Jesus and He loves me. I still have a burning desire to serve Jesus and minister to His people. I still want to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven.

Being at 'full draw' is the pinnacle point of drawing the bow string back after you have positioned your self in preparation for the release and you aim for the bullseye of your target. In hunting the target is the prey that you are hunting. In your life, it's choosing to follow the plan God has for your life. In both situations, God provides an abundance in our lives to bless us, care for us and love us. Persistence and consistency to the plan keeps us at 'full draw'.

Hebrews 10:36: "You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

Hebrews 13:8

"He is the same yesterday, today, and always". This verse confirms that God is consistent and has an unwavering plan.

Do you know God's plan for your life? What are your 'stills' in life?
